From the Shadow of a Doorway, I am increasingly becoming aware of 'Generative AI' and its ability to assist human capabilities to achieve individual or collective outcomes.

So what is 'Generative AI'?

Generative AI is artificial intelligence designed to create unique text or image results in response to user prompts. 

The technology uses machine learning to return an output based on the user’s prompt. 

AI engineers train the technology using large data sets, which the model consults when determining the best possible answer to a prompt. 

Another way to look at generative AI is as a form of predictive artificial intelligence. Based on the information provided, generative AI will predict which words, and in which order will give the optimum answer to the user's prompts.

Subsequently, within the last few hours of Fri 19 April 2024, Meta AI is trending on open source search engines. 

According to Meta, Meta AI's purpose is to assist and augment human capabilities through various artificial intelligence technologies. Meta AI is designed to:

Provide helpful and informative responses:it aims to address a wide range of questions and topics, from general knowledge to more specialised domains.

Generate text and writing suggestions: it may assist with writing tasks, such as proofreading, editing, and suggesting alternative phrases or sentences.

Translate languages: it can translate text from one language to another, including popular languages such as Spanish, French, German, Chinese, and many more.

Summarise content: it can summarise long pieces of text into shorter, more digestible versions, highlighting key points and main ideas.

Offer conversation and creative ideas: it can engage in natural-sounding conversations, offer creative ideas, and even generate text based on prompts.

Assist with everyday tasks: it can help with tasks such as calculating tips, converting units, and providing definitions.

Continuously learn and improve: Through user interactions, Meta AI can refine it's understanding and accuracy, adapting to the needs and preferences of those it assists.

The culmination of these goals, will allow Meta AI to make a positive impact on people's lives, helping them access information, generate ideas, and streamline tasks more efficiently.
